Unpacking the Message

Our message-based small group meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 at the church.  Each week, we will be discussing the sermon.  Everyone is welcome!

Discussion Questions

1. Has anyone ever been a light for Jesus to you or someone you know?  What did this person do, and how much did it impact you?

2. How does knowing God intentionally designed you affect your view of yourself?

3. In what ways do you feel unqualified to follow God’s call, and how does God’s Word speak against that? (Psalm 139:13–14)

4. Have you ever delayed saying “yes” to something God was clearly asking you to do? What were the reasons or excuses you gave? Read Jeremiah 1:6–7. How do Jeremiah’s excuses sound similar to ours today?

5. Pastor Darius said, “God is not asking for perfection. He is asking for willingness.” How willing are you to be a light for Jesus?

6. Do you believe God has a calling on your life? If so, what helps you trust Him to equip you for it?

    7. Why do you think God exposes sin not to shame us but to cleanse and prepare us? (Isaiah 6:7; Hebrews 12:14)

    8. How have you seen God give you strength, words, or courage when you felt unprepared? (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
