Unpacking the Message

Our message-based small group meets on Wednesdays at 6:00 at the church.  Each week, we will be discussing the sermon.  Everyone is welcome!

Discussion Questions

June 29, 2025 / Suzee Lind

1. Do you believe that you can mark out a straight path for your life? If so, what does that look like?

Proverbs 4:25-27 Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

2. How do you know when you're starting to drift away from that straight path?

3. Who do you turn to when things feel difficult? How does your relationship with God influence your response to hardship?

4. What are some examples of cultural trends that make it difficult for us to follow God's path? Are you willing to obey God even if it means standing out or going against what everyone else is doing?

5. In what ways can we support each other to stay on the narrow road?

6. What stood out to you about Eli Beer's story (the person who developed a fast-response EMT service) and his impact at such a young age?

7. What are some passions or skills God could use in your life to make a difference like Eli did?

8. How does Proverbs 3:5-6 encourage you to trust God with your future?

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

9. Why do you think encouragement is so important in today’s generation?

10. Who do you know who could use some encouragement? Write their names down and be intentional about reaching out to them this week.

11. Reflect on James 4:7-8 - How do you submit to God in your everyday life?

James 4:7-8  Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
