Job Description for Lead Children's Ministry Director at Streams Church

Position Summary:
Streams church seeks an individual to join our team as the Lead Children’s Ministry Director.
We are looking for a leader who passionately loves Jesus, families, and children.
Engaging children through various activities and lessons to help them grow in their faith and knowledge of God's Word. To support families and parents as they disciple their children.
Pay Range: $12,000 - $24,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Higher pay may be available for managing social media, young adult and singles ministries, and other pastoral roles.

Streams Church is a 20-year-old non-denominational family of believers in Christ. Our mission is to help others connect with Christ, connect with others, and live their faith. We are a relational-based, discipleship-driven community of believers.
Purpose: Provide leadership and oversight to all related responsibilities of the birth through fifth-grade ministry and to help come alongside parents to be the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
Hours Required:
Sundays 8am - 12pm at Streams Church (6532 N. El Mirage Rd, Glendale AZ 85307)
Staff Meetings: Thursday at 4:15 pm
Special church-wide events
Other job duties are entirely flexible and can be done at the church or offsite. We will work to accommodate any other student or work responsibilities.
General Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the Children's Ministry: Four different age classes meet on Sunday at 10 am. We have a new Children's Ministry Building that opened in 2020.
Agreement and alignment with the statement of faith and vision of Streams Church.
Being an invested and committed team member of Streams staff who participates in all necessary staff meetings and activities.
Meet regularly with your supervisor for encouragement, feedback, and planning.
Flexible hours and responsibilities with offsite tasks and relationships.
Fulfillment of other duties or needs as assigned by supervisor.
Responsibilities
Support volunteers, run children's church classes, and provide leadership and spiritual equipping for the children, parents, and families at Streams Church.
Make sure the curriculum is prepared for each class.
Partner with parents in supporting them with the spiritual formation of their children.
Work with the Student Ministry Pastor to Recruit, equip, oversee, schedule, and invest in a strong volunteer team in the Children's Ministry.
Create and manage safe, fun, welcoming, clean, creative, caring, and vibrant environments and opportunities for children to experience God, learn about the love of Christ, and build relationships with others.
Oversee the annual budget for the children’s ministry and operate within that budget.
Help plan, prepare, and recruit for special events and experiences that reach and grow children and families in Christ (examples: VBS, Family movie night, picnics, egg hunt, trunk or treat, community engagement opportunities, etc.)
Communicate with children, parents, and those who serve in the children’s ministry.
Keep current with trends, needs, and tools that impact children and families.
Implement and maintain the safety policies and practices.
Perform background checks for all new volunteers.
Help kids with special abilities to be successful in the Streams Church ministry environments by partnering with parents and making appropriate accommodations.
Collaborate with assigned staff on providing social media posts and online resources.
Collaborate with the youth ministry leadership to help with a smooth transition from children’s ministry to youth ministry.

A follower of Jesus Christ who is fluent in the Gospel with themselves and others.
Strong commitment to personal spiritual health and growth in your relationship with Jesus
Healthy prioritization with Jesus, family, friends, church, and community.
Living a life of Biblical integrity and faithfulness.
Demonstrates healthy relationships, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for children and families and a strong drive to help strengthen their faith in Christ and become a disciple-making disciple.
Intuitive to needs around them, especially those that relate to children and families.
Believes parents are the primary spiritual formation equipper in a child's life.
A working understanding of child development and family dynamics, especially how it relates spiritually.
A proven ability to work well with children, parents, volunteers, and staff team members.
Is a self-starter who takes initiative in their areas of responsibility.
Is a team player who values collaboration and helps serve those they work with.
Is skilled in teaching, planning, organizing, delegating, communication, managing, flexibility, conflict resolution, equipping, and encouraging others.
Good verbal and written communication skills and computer/technology literacy.
Education or training in theology and children’s education or related fields preferred.
